Registered users of Delivr’s QR Code Creation, Management, and Tracking Platform can now activate a location prompt that asks the person scanning your QR Code if they would like to share their current location. If the person accepts, Device GPS location is captured along with the accuracy of that location measured in feet/meters.
If the person does not accept, location identification falls back to lookup of location based on the IP address of the carrier gateway or WiFi network used to access the destination URL encoded in the QR Code. IP lookup is accurate up to city, state, and country.
No App or download is required by the person scanning the code. The location check-in service is 100% mobile Web browser-based. The location check-in service can be toggled ON/OFF on a per QR Code basis at any point during a QR Campaign. This service is also available for use for those using Delivr Short URLs.
Use of this service is available to all registered users. Registration is free. Enjoy.
